CSGB February 2018 Auction24th January 2018 by Sam Whiting
By the time you read this, Christmas will be over and we will be into 2018. I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas and are looking forward to a happy and peaceful New Year. I am going to have to mention cricket again. At the time of writing this, England has just been humiliated in the third Ashes test and so has of course lost the urn. I am hoping they can avoid another 5-0 whitewash, but that is looking highly unlikely. It is no wonder then that I collect cricketers from the golden age! I believe the cricket authorities are going to have to look in to the game; England cannot play competitively in Australia and vice versa, it is all coming a bit predictable. It is not just the Ashes series; it seems the home side has a huge advantage over the visiting side, something that I do not recall previously.
There are plenty of cricket subjects this time from Wills 1901, Barratt and Smith. Also from Barratt are 2 Military types. There are 7 Taddy Prominent Footballers with London Mixture backs and another selection of South American and North African cards that are proving popular.
Please have a good look through the Auction List; there is the usual mix of sets and types, tobacco and trade. I look forward to receiving your bids.
