Annual Convention

2020 Convention – Salisbury – CANCELLED

We regret there will be no Cartophilic Convention this year. The decision has been made on grounds of safety and of health. It may turn out that coronavirus has been entirely defeated by October. Or it may not. A large proportion of our collecting friends fall in the demographic age of those who are unkindly most affected by this scourge, and we do not feel comfortable with the risks. May you all stay safe and keep optimistic. May our first steps into our brave new world be the first steps to r

Our Annual Card Convention

Last Updated : 14 June 2020 @ 12.22 pm Many thanks to our collector pals who have amazingly now supplied enough links to give each of our Conventions a spin off website for you to go and browse around - and some years even two. Also thanks for taking us right back to 1995. Now if any of you know of any other websites relating to our conventions, or to any press releases, or you can get us even further back in time, please get in touch by clicking HERE Here we are at Eastbourne, i

2019 Convention – Nottingham

Card collectors worldwide headed for Nottingham.... though not to the original venue, as there was a last minute change, the owners of the old TV Studios being concerned there were insufficient parking facilities, and moving us to the De Vere Jubilee Conference Centre, 16 Orston Drive, NG8 1DH. That's only a mile away from the original Studio 7, but it still led to several other changes. We are, however, delighted to report that all our stallholders and visitors arrived safely. Interest

2018 Convention – Kings Lynn

And a very warm Norfolk welcome back to the convention; it was ten years ago that we were down this way, in Norwich. This year, hundreds of card collectors from all over the globe are heading for Kings Lynn. After searching the breadth of East Anglia, we found "Lynnsport" a leisure complex run by Alive Leisure, with the usual easy level access for all visitors, catering facilities and car parks, plus great transport links. The convention will be open Saturday and Sunday. Special this ye

The largest meeting in the world for trade & cigarette card collectors will take place on 29th – 30th April at the Stratford Leisure Centre, Bridge Foot, Stratford upon Avon CV37 6YY. 2016 Convention – Bracknell

It’s that time of year already and we are pleased to confirm the 2016 CSGB Convention will take place in Bracknell on the Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May. As I get updates on dealers that will be attending I shall add them here but you can be sure that there will be quite literally millions of cigarette and trade cards on offer as usual. Chris Corner has also assembled a first rate auction (which will be loaded onto the website very soon!) and all lots will be available to view over th

2015 Convention – Worcester

We are very pleased to announce the dates and venue for our 2015 Convention! We are going back to Worcester to Perdiswell - a venue that hosted us back in 2007. The event will take place on the last Saturday and Sunday in April (25th and 26th) which marks a change to our usual Friday and Saturday timing! Exact timings for the doors will be announced nearer the time but we usually aim for 12am to 5pm on day 1 (11am for members) and 10am to 4pm on day 2. Perdiswell Golf & Leisure C

2014 Convention – Southport

The 2014 CSGB Convention & AGM was held on the 25th and 26th April at  Southport Theatre & Convention Centre which is situated on the Promenade just off the town centre. There is some parking next to the venue with several other car parks and street parking close by. There are also two Park & Ride car parks. It is only a short walk from the rail station and, being a popular holiday resort, there is a good choice of accommodation available. There will also be a s

2013 Convention – Woking

Why H G Wells, you may ask? Well he lived in the area, and in his book, "The War of the Worlds" the aliens first land on a heath in Woking. Other cards show H G Wells, but this is the only one we know that shows the long legged invaders. This was a very special event, marking the 75th Anniversary of The Cartophilic Society. Two happy events - the Cartophilic Cup was awarded to Mr. Devaney, and Mr. G. Rogers was made a Life Member. Sadly we heard the announcement that our West Count
