2017 Convention – Stratford – 29th & 30th April22nd Feb 2017 by Sam Whiting
The largest meeting in the world for trade & cigarette card collectors will take place on 29th – 30th April at the Stratford Leisure Centre, Bridge Foot, Stratford upon Avon CV37 6YY. This is a venue that we have used in the past and it has always been popular with dealers & collectors alike.
There are already nearly 100 tables booked and dealers will be offering cards for sale that have been issued during the last 130 years or so.
Opening times on Saturday are 10 -6 for Society member & 12-6 for public entry. On Sunday entry time for all is 10 – 4.
If you are travelling by car a large Pay & Display car park adjoins the venue, (according to the Council website the cost of parking ranges from £1 for 1 hour to £10 for 24 hours) Please ensure that you do not park in the designated coach parking area as this could result in a parking surcharge for you.
If you are travelling by train, I suggest that you make enquiries nearer the date regarding train times.
The Leisure Centre is a 10 – 15 minute walk through the town from the station, downhill. If you decide you would rather take a taxi, a few are available at the station but King’s Taxi Service (tel.07817 365 619) will take bookings in advance.
For anybody who has not been to the venue before, it is close by the main shopping area of Stratford and the various Shakespeare tourist attractions so there is plenty to keep the whole family amused!

In this Auction, 'the collection' again features items at Lots 6 - 71, including 4 with high catalogue values. One set, scarce as set, is catalogued at £1900, but is not that popular. What reserve can I give, when the cards are in VG condition.
