2013 Convention – Woking12th August 2013 by webspinner
Why H G Wells, you may ask? Well he lived in the area, and in his book, “The War of the Worlds” the aliens first land on a heath in Woking. Other cards show H G Wells, but this is the only one we know that shows the long legged invaders.
This was a very special event, marking the 75th Anniversary of The Cartophilic Society.
Two happy events – the Cartophilic Cup was awarded to Mr. Devaney, and Mr. G. Rogers was made a Life Member.
Sadly we heard the announcement that our West Country Branch would be closing in the near future.
